"Designing the Best Self" by Hooma Roy

"Designing the Best Self" by Hooma Roy Choudhury is a self-help book that guides readers on how to make the best out of our lives'.

It's a short book of 208 pages that offers a lot to learn, implement, share, and focus on for self-improvement.

The book is divided into 11 parts:

1)Introduction and guidance for the readers.

2)Life - covering aspects of the body, breath, and mind.

3) Our duties - towards ourselves, our parents, teachers, children, environment and more

4) Our Rights - The chapter discusses the rights individuals have in society and how to advocate for oneself.

5)This part is my favorite as it motivates me to practice happiness and understand the science behind. The author discusses how human nature is influenced by society, portraying the reality beautifully.

6)This chapter is especially oriented towards parents, exploring their role in shaping outcomes in their children's lives.

7)Mentioning health and well-being, emphasizing the importance of maintaining good health.

8)Sleep - highlighting the crucial role it plays in life. Sometimes I ponder, "What if there were no nights?" This chapter delves into the theory of its importance.

9-11)These three parts encompass the core approach of the book, guiding readers on how to face life's challenges and achieve peace. They also provide a step-by-step approach to designing one's life.

Each part is explained differently from the previous, yet they are all connected to bring out the positive outcome in anyone's life.

I really Appreciate the author's scientific approach, layering theories and examples throughout the book. The addition of different and suitable theories and examples makes it a perfect blend to read. The language is easy to understand, making it feel like my own teacher is guiding me towards self-improvement.

Overall, it's a good read as it offers a variety of topics to discuss, learn from, and implement into daily life. It's a commendable effort by the author to bring diverse varieties into one book.
