Goagr@m by Bina Nayak
Goagr@m" by Bina Nayak is a fictional book based on the influencing world of social media. The main protagonist, named Madhur aka Maddie, leaves Delhi and moves to Goa during the COVID phase. So basically, this book is the story of Maddie who has different dreams and a different way of living.
The book is divided into three sections: Maddie's life, her bonds with the landlady , and finally her experiences. We all know how social media works and how the world always portrays the beauty of life ,even when they are on their worst. What struck me the most is the portrayal of the real world of Goa, both the true and un- imaginative sides.
☀️Negative aspects of the book:
For me, this book didn't work. Firstly, I didn't like the name of the character; it made me feel lost. Secondly, I felt a lack of connectivity with the book. The story didn't meet my expectations. I felt like something was missing. I'm usually so curious that if I like something, I'll finish the book in one day, especially fiction books, which I hardly read. That's why I feel my opinion about connecting with the book on point and exact .The way the author penned the story lacked in building interest.
☀️Positive aspects:
I liked the representation of the characters more than the story itself. I felt it was realistic.
The cover: Believe me, I hardly ever like book covers, especially when they don't resonate with the story.
-Title :- initially I felt ...like yeh kya name hua looks so unrealistic sa. But after reading the book , felt now , I got the point of the title.
Illustrations: I loved the art pieces in the book. They were so beautiful.
Overall, it was an okay book for me, according to my taste and reading style. However, I still recommend you to go through it. I felt a lack of connectivity more, which is why it didn't work for me.
Have a good day!
