STARRY STARRY NIGHT BY NANDITA BASU
About the book:-
After Kunal's mother dies, he is sent off to a boarding school in the hills. Till he has a hostel room, he stays with Tara, his father's cousin, who teaches a special music programme in the school.
Teaching music helped Tara after her best friend died-- that, and perhaps the company of the enigmatic figure known as Death, whom she sees everywhere.
Tara and Kunal must try to live together, their lives entwined by their separate losses-- which neither is comfortable talking about.
This is a tale of love and loss, of the healing and illuminating power of friendship, art and music.

My views on book:-
"STARRY STARRY NIGHT by Nandita Basu" is one of the most challenging books I've read. The narrative is filled with grief and pain, yet it instills strength and the will to confront life's challenges. The two main protagonists, Tara and Kunal, both grapple with the loss of their loved ones. Experiencing such loss is among life's toughest trials, and even harder is living with that persistent pain and grief.
Tara lost her close friend, while Kunal mourned the loss of his mother. To find solace and happiness, they find comfort in art and music, supporting each other through their shared pain.
The depth of emotion in the book's writing reflects the author's profound feelings while penning down this story. The narrative in this book is so captivating, and the illustrations are breathtaking. However, one drawback is the crowded layout of the illustrations, which can be slightly confusing at times. This issue was mainly evident at the start, but as you delve deeper into the book, the power of the narrative overtakes any initial confusion.
I highly recommend this book. It offers insights into finding happiness amidst sorrow. While mature in its themes, it imparts invaluable lessons on navigating grief and pain, finding joy in life's small pleasures.
The book's cover art aptly captures its essence. I admire the craftsmanship and intensity of the design. I eagerly look forward to reading more from this author.
